We have talked about what are some of the anxiety panic attack symptoms. Knowing what the symptoms are, are there any tips or ideas for what to do when the next one strikes? What can you do to pull through the attack when you do not even know how you survived the last attack?
The very first thing you need to remember is that no harm came upon you. Yes, that's right. Despite all the feelings of fear, danger, shock and madness, nothing actually happened. You were never in danger of losing your mind or dying.
But since panic attacks can happen when you least expect it or when something triggers your panic alarm, it is much better to be prepared to deal with the attacks with several anxiety attack panic treatments. Knowing these tips for panic attacks can mean that you can control the effects of these attacks yourself without having your family members rush you to ER every time something happens.
Panic Attack Tip 1: - Control Your Breathing
The most basic tip for panic attacks is to Control Your Breathing.
Now, almost everyone suffering from a panic attack hyperventilates and that makes the whole situation even worse as the the loud gasping sound you make scares you even further.
So when you start to hyperventilate, force yourself to slow down your breathing by taking deep breaths.
Inhale deeply and exhale slowly through your mouth. Inhale, exhale. Repeat as many times as you need. Slowly...
Focus your mind on this breathing exercise and this could also help you keep your mind off the fears that are attacking you.
Panic Attack Tip 2: - Relax Your Muscles
Another good tip is for panic attacks is to Relax Your Muscles.
Some people have trouble in controlling their breathing. This other tip works almost as well.
What you can do is to tense up each of you major muscle groups and hold the tension for a few seconds before slowly releasing the tension.
As you are relaxing your muscles, feel as if you are letting go of all the fears and anxieties that are within you.
Do it several times and this should lessen the tension that has been building up within.
In fact, this exercise tip is so good that I do it all the time, especially when I have loads of work in the office. I find that it calms and relaxes me more for the road ahead.
